Silicon Monk

Benjamin Ross Frimmer founded Silicon Monk in 1999, while he was studying at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. While he lists trance as a profound influence (one that can certainly be heard), his music is certainly as much about artistic expression as it is about technology. Full of driving rock-like beats and passionate vocals, the music sounds more human than machine.

Contradictions EP

After-dinner recordings is a London-based netlabel which releases electronic music focused on techno, electro and house music. Monochord is a producer who has relesed as Quirckstench and performed live as Einstein on the Beach.

This time, Monochord releases a collection of techno-electro tunes which combines the rythm patterns of house music with sounds of the 80's electro in a minimal and playful production. I like "Contradiction" and "No Question, No Answer"; the first two tracks on the EP.

Polish Ambassador

The Polish Ambassador may not be the most effective force in the UN, sneaking around in his banana suit, but he puts his diplomatic immunity to good use, producing tight beats and dreamy electro melodies. He engages us with thought provoking questions, like "how kickass would it be if you were an earthworm?", and keeps us dancing at the same time. The Polish community is in good hands. Via I'm Just Sayin is All.
