Review of Hartke Model 210XL Bass Cabinet (200 Watts, 2x10 in.)

Feature:
Nice grill and black carpet. Spring loaded handles are very nice. Plastic corners though? Come on, go for metal - platic cracks and wears down. Metal is forever.

Quality:
Very well made, no problems so far. Hartke has very durable products in my experience.

Value:
Excellent value. Pay $900 for Eden 2x10??? No Way! Over-rated! Don't waste your money on SWR, Ampeg, etc. when you can get better sound for a reasonable price. Pro gear at a price everyone can afford, thanks Hartke.

Desirability:
Nice looking cab, very portable for the sound it pumps out.

Sound:
The lows on this cab sound like a 15 and the highs are crisp and clear (you don't need a stinking tweeter - way too twangy like SWR). Overall, excellent sound quality, far superior to any 2x10 I've ever heard. Better than 4x10 Transporter too, don't waste your money on TP, go for the XL.

Support:
Slow on the email turnaround time, but helpful enough in answering questions. Haven't had any repairs to make so that's good for quality.

Overall:
This cab is great for med-small size venues or for practices. Not recommended for high volume situations as a stand alone cab, esspecially if you have a 5 string (you WILL blow it if you have enough power in your amp or else just be drowned out). Get this cab with a HA3500 and 1x15 XL or a HA7000 and 2x15 XL for an awsome rig. That will cover all your highs, lows, and everything in between. You wont believe your ears!

I was looking for a 2-15 cab rated at 4-ohms with no tweet or horn. I'm 51 years old and have been playing bass since I was 9. I've used Hartke 4-10 cabs before and was impressed with the sound and quality. I am currently in a blues/R&B gig competing with a Hammond/Leslie and the guitarist's 50 watt half stack. I play a Fender P-bass through an Ampeg B2R head. This rig has got all the deep vintage tone I was searching for with power to spare. Just know that if you're gigging the first thing to do as soon as you get it is put casters on it.

Hartke 2200 Professional Bass Cabinet (300 Watts, 2x12 in.) The 2200 houses 2 Hartke aluminum cone 12 in. XL drivers and a 1 in. compression driver on a wide dispersion medium throw horn. Handling 300 watts of power, this full range system has 2 airflow-curved ports and an angled top section to provide highs and clarity to the bass player. The 2200 has a frequency response of 29 Hz - 16 kHz. the horn should be more adustable other than on, off, or medium but on the other hand it does work well with the frequincy range of the whole cab i like the fact that it has a range from 29hz-16khz it really does define differant tones that you give it

Quality:
I have only had this for a few weeks, but I can say so far it seems to be well made I work my equipment hard and it is in and out af a truck 3 times a week and benn holding up well to the abuse

Value:
I think its a very good product for the price

Desirability:
It looks good on stage its very slender with a big punch, it looks cute but is mean

Sound:
This cabnit will handle every frequecy I give I use a hartke HA 3500 head with this cabnit and a 5 string bass, (carvin LB 75)active electronics and when I pull up a little more 30 - 64 hz on my head the cab handles it nice and on the other end it handles thehigh end as well, its not muddy it really defines each tone and note

Support:
sorry I cant rate this fair because I never had to deal with them yet

Overall:
I am very happy if I was to go bigger I would work another into my system, but there is no need to it works fine for the clubs and as well in arenas when I need more out front thats when the pa is taking over. I allwaysed believed that you need a good stage sound and stage balance and let the pa do all the pounding

tube emulation is not the same as the old tube sound

Quality:
dont drop it... it seams light and cheep like a zoom pedal!

Value:
err your money is better spent on a Hartke 3500 for the same price from American Musical Supply.. it has real tube sound!

Desirability:
I want to sell it!

Sound:
It's not very loud.. good for 2x10 cabs... the tube emulation is not very tube like! Blah

Support:
Samson tech is ok they take their time getting back to you!

IT can sit well on a floor or speaker cabinet. but I have an old style like that and it not light.

Quality:
it should be lighter

Value:
the priice is to high casuse i like said saw it at sam ash and ,think about would that item be the same price when you take it back no.

Desirability:
it could use a better design letter and box.

Sound:
I seen one at the store which was sam ash and the price was 399.00, and it did not nave that style.that was the old style which it is a light style and better to carrier around. But this new way is heavier to carrier around.

Support:
no

Overall:
Not long cause i seen the 3500 on the up for bid at 200.00 and someone out there is selling themfor less then what they paid. why

I love the sound of this Cabinet,I'm using a SLM Electronics Bass Head,200 Watts @ Ohms to drive it.The tone and bass characteristics of the Aluminum drivers is something i have never experienced, very controlled lows(not Boomy), just nice tight deep sound. The tone is chrisp, but not overwelming.I plan to add the Hartke 210XL bass cabinet on top of the 410XL.I played a Fender Fx-300, 1-15 Bass Combo(300 Watts @ 4 Ohms), for 15 years and the difference is night and day! I traded in the Fender and paid the difference to get this cabinet, I'm glad I did!

Quality:
It is built well, and is definately road worthy.

Value:
It is a little more expensive, but worth it.

Desirability:
It was made with though. Well done.

Sound:
This is an excellent product. It sounds great. Probabally more suited for jazz, but works well for metal. And the 5 is helpful for distortion. The HA 350 is about the best match Amplifier-wise.

Support:

Overall:
It's sound is the best part, it's weight is the worst, but nothing a few caster wheels can't take care of.
