I was very pleased with this drum. I have a two year old who is very interested in music, especially drums. We bought several other drums for him, but this drum was by far the highest quality. The sound is outstanding, especially when using the malletts provided.

I bought this for my 1-year old kid, who was already having a lot of fun banging on various tins and boxes around the house. We figured we'd give him a set of drums to play on. Our options were either a set of miniature bongos or these Remo kids' bongos. Both were in the same price range. These bongos won out because they are rounded off and have no sharp edges. The miniature bongos were tunable and consequently had protruding metal hardware that could have caused cuts or could be unscrewed and swallowed. But while these Remo bongos are much safer, they don't sound all that great. They sound alright when played on your lap or held with your knees, like you're supposed to, but a very young child isn't quite big enough to play like that. My son plays them on the floor, which is unfortunate because the bongos have no feet to raise them off the floor. The result is that you get a muffled, dead sound because the air below is not free to resonate, and playing them isn't nearly as much fun, and it take much more effort to get reasonable volume out of them. It would take an older child to be able to play the instrument on the lap or between the knees, but then a child that age would probably be able to play safely with the miniature bongos, which sound more like the real thing. They're okay for what they are, but with the dull, uniform sound, it doesn't hold my son's interest for very long.

Best heads I've used. Cost a tad more than some, but worth it.

These heads are too coo on account of their rainbow/weird light reflection which is seen at certain angles.

Sound:
Phat! That's right, PHAT! Deep. Rich. I use ZeroRings to help control the amazing amount of rolloff these heads can produce.

Support:
No need for support, but Remo is still in the biz, so you figure.

Overall:
Like I said. These heads are durable. I should replace my snare head, but you guys don't have any batter heads for sale. Bad!

Its an awsome bass beater,alot better than the cloth beater that came with the kit,i like the bass be reall crisp and pure and pack alot of punch each time that bass head is hit,and this one does the job.And that goes to say it sounds even better just by itself,but when the toms,snare and symbals are played along as well,its a sound of unpressidented pleasure.

Sound quality was fine but the click track is very annoying. The Click track is in the left side only, to get rid of it you have to adjust the balance to full right. Now your left whith just sound coming out of the right speaker which dosn't sound good. The left and right tracks are the same except for the click track so I imported the tracks into Adobe Audition (sound editing software)and copied the right track over the left track, no more click track and sound now comes out of both left and right speakers. They also added croud noise to some of the tracks that sounds ok on some tracks but sounds dumb on most of them. Some tracks end with a loud cow bell count off that I don't care for. I guess my idea of rock music is not the same as producers Spencer Stand and Dave DeMarco. There were some good rock tracks but I was hoping for something a little heavier. Some of the tracks just don't make sence to me and were not fun to play to. Hard Rock and Heavy Metal drummers won't get into this CD.

Overall:
Some of the tracks were OK but most were not to my liking, Not heavy enough for my taste. Click track is annoying and took some work to get rid of. I will use it as I haven't found anything better out there on the market.

Maybe it's because I'm new at recording, but one thing that might have been just a little helpful was a mention that a TRS (balanced) cable was required for a hookup to a mixer. It's possible that these kinds of things are just assumed, but since I am a newbie, I am still learning.

Quality:
It's well made, although if you turn it up REALLY loud, you'll get some prominent hissing. But the chances of you having to turn it up that loud are very slim, unless you are next to deaf.

Value:
I'd say it was worth it.

Desirability:
I like my equipment black, so as this fit the bill, I'm happy.

Sound:
Gosh, this thing can get loud - crucial when working with fussy people who might not have as great hearing as others!

Support:
Haven't needed support.

Overall:
I expect this will last me quite a long time.
